This little black kitten discovered one of my mini baskets as soon as he was able to walk and insists on sitting, lying, and sleeping in it. He especially loves playing with the balls of yarn...

Naughty Black Kitten is just 1½" from tip of nose to butt, with a wired 1¼" tail. He stands 1½" tall from his toes to the top of the head, excluding his alert little ears. He is made of pure black medium-pile upholstery velvet, with dusky pink extra-thin ultrasuede for inner ears. His eyes are tiny onyx beads and his nose and lips are made of dimensional fabric paint (I have found that this works better than polymer clay at this tiny scale). I have found that the secret to getting the cat face right is a lot of needle sculpting. I have given him whiskers using ultra-thin nylon invisible thread in a smoke color. His inner ears are shaded.

He is fully jointed with a cotter pin in his head and thread joints for the limbs. In addition to standing on all fours, he can sit, lie down, and stand with his paws up on a higher surface. His front legs are wired. I have also needle-sculpted his feet to delineate his toes.

He is stuffed with polyfill and I even managed to get a little bit of treated steel shot inside that chubby little tummy, so he feels quite heavy for such a little cat.

I bought his little basket a while ago, and aged it with acrylic craft paints. It contains a selection of yarn balls in various colors, needle-felted from pure wool. I have also added a piece of needle-felted "knitting", complete with straight pin knitting needles.
